My Reflections

I've been in hiding; struggling against myself:
Question: Why am I doing this?
Internal Judgement or maybe just fear of being judged by others: I don't know the first thing about homesteading; I probably look like a wannabe.
Question: Do I have the right to post pictures of my children? My extended family members? My friends?
Internal Judgement or probably fear of being judged by others: Is "sharing" online an inappropriate commercialization of my family, friends, community?
Question: Is it right for me to keep blogging about random things when I haven't finished my interview series?
Internal Judgment or again, that fear of being judged by others: I just started this and already I'm failing to meet expectations I publicly set for myself.
But here I am, Lord. Grateful that:
I GET to publish this blog. I have access to technology and this crazy thing I don't fully comprehend (the Internet).
I GET to express myself. I had the privilege of learning to read and write and I don't struggle with any neurological or physical challenges.
I GET to be interrupted by my curious six year old son as he awakes for the day and sits on my lap to READ what I'm writing.
I GET to share and expand my knowledge with my children as we homeschool them.
I GET to work from home and see my family more often than I see my coworkers.
I GET to examine a 360 degree view of my areas of growth every time I really look at my children.
I GET to live in a country that is imperfect but where I can scream from the hilltops about their imperfections (and recently, about my disagreement with their attempts to stop me).
I GET to make friends and keep them.
I GET to be interrupted by my littlest, a three year old, as she seeks warmth outside her bed first thing this morning.
I GET to make plans to put away laundry and clean toilets and maybe even break them to take a walk with the kids instead.
I GET to experience the rural community's struggle with spotty wifi as I work on writing and posting this entry.
These two got to work together on building up our recycled chicken coop this week. The chicks are on their way!

What do you GET to do today?
