The point is...

I started reading a book and I think I'm going to like it. Here's my invitation to read along with me.

It's a book that, very close to beginning, includes a bit about C.S. Lewis and how he differentiated between friends and mere companions. It really spoke to me. Essentially, according to C.S. Lewis, and at the risk of losing much to a quick summary of a summary, friends are those people with whom we share the search for answers to a deep question. My examples: how should we raise our kids? Is there a single "right" way to be? Can we really be "full time" employees AND our best versions of "mom"?

If you're intrigued follow these simple steps:

  1. Subscribe and send me a message with your name and a sentence or two on why you this book club invitation called to you.

  2. Grab a copy of "Life Worth Living" by Volf, Croasmun & McAnnally-Linz (no, this is not an affiliate link), and join me. I only did the first "your turn" section in my head but I've interacted with the second one in my journal. If you read it, you'll know.

  3. Get through page 30 by Sunday, Oct. 8th.

  4. Await further instructions. 🤣

This might seem random, so let me explain. A strange thing is happening lately. I've done some things, said some things and discovered some things about myself this summer that were all quite unexpected. Yet, I've found myself unwilling or unable to blog about them. I have this biq question...yes, another one: shouldn't there be a point to me writing something? My inability to answer that has paralyzed me. Well, almost...instead of my typical musings, my brain has somehow connected to my heart and these poems have been escaping.

Here's the latest, on this topic:

Something stops me...

Every time...

The words bubble up;

The thoughts are nonstop.

Should I remain open?

Is it best to stay shut?
